Oak is a little more noticeable on the nose than I would like it to be, but this is California Sangiovese, not Italian. It's bombastic where the Italian version is understated. It's noisy where the other is quiet, ripe instead of restrained. The palate is showy and brassy, with a nice tannic structure that is useful, not abrasive. Big black cherry flavors and minerality show noticeably, with a bit of allspice poking through.

Strawberry, cherry, raspberry, watermelon, lime and kiwi. Great acidity and balance.

Bright ripe red fruit. Big and beguiling. So enjoyable. Glad I held onto this for a few years (and I still have another bottle).

Oak, red fruit, and blackberries. Dry and acidic, just a touch sharp for me.
