Another stunner from 2015. I love this producer and the purity of its style. A reference point wine with drop dead gorgeous and slightly rustic fall aromas with a hint of bergamot and leather. Flavors of sour cherry, pomegranate, orange peel and warm spices framed by sinewy tannins and ripping acidity.

Castell'in Villa's 2015 Chianti Classico is a gorgeous wine that will delight readers who enjoy the Chianti Classicos of this reference-point estate in Castelnuovo Berardenga. Crushed flowers, mint, licorice, dried herbs, cedar and tobacco give the 2015 lovely aromatic complexity. The 2015 is perhaps a bit more open than young wines tend to be here, but then again, 2015 is a warm vintage that generally yielded accessible Chianti Classicos. All that means is that the 2015 can be enjoyed with less cellaring than is the norm here. As it so often is, the Castell'in Villa Chianti Classico is a wine of real pedigree and distinction. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2019)

The OG of CC! One of the best I’ve had. Just a baby but drinking really well, especially with some dry rub ribs. Acidity for days but not overpowering.

Just great and elegant from a 80 years plus autodidact, a Greece princess. FAntastic.

Blood red, pleasant tannins, excellent. Whenever I enjoy this wine I am reminded of my Italian grandpa’s homemade wine. No wonder he insisted that his wine was better for you than milk.

Absolutely fantastic traditional Tuscan Red. Magical set of aromas emanate from unapologetically austere acid-tannin structure that makes no concessions to the modern consumer requirements.
