Giulio de' Medici - a member of the florentine Medici family - became Pope Clemente VII in 1523 and used to live in Campoli in the Chianti Classico area where today they produce this superb wine (off the back of the bottle) Love reading about the Medici family. So much history there! Great wine for after a belly full of pasta!

2012 is okay. Nothing special. Not well balanced.

This was an average drinking glass of wine. I love the blend but this one sadly was a little blander than I would have hoped. Still fun and drinkable.

Nice dark red color like a cab or merlot... a bit dark for a Sangiovese. Good balance of sour fruit, acid, and some skin tannins. Taste seems like there is some cab or merlot added. Overall a nice balanced wine however not your tropical chianti. 2012 vintage. Really comes to life with some Italian food.
