Nose features leather, spice, crushed rock and gravel, some cherry underneath. Intense flavors of cherry brandy, cracked rock dust. Lean and structured, though the tannins I noticed two years ago with my last bottle are starting to soften a bit. Very linear in flavor progression. Drinking nicely now, but will benefit from a year or two more and will keep for many more after that.

This is like a barrel sample. So tight. Nose is not that friendly. You can smell the tannins, with their bitterish dried leafy signature. Some cherry fruit underneath. In the mouth, it’s more open than the nose foreshadows. Rich mineral-infused cherry fruit is there, but surrounded by stern tannic scaffolding. Nice acid balance. Needs some time, but very good.

Really enjoyable wine. Cherry and plum. Good tannins; will probably age well. Drank with left over Christmas pork tenderloin with fig sauce and au jus. Really enjoyed long finish. Due to young age mouthfeel was a little light, but should improve with them.

Menthol, herbs, floral, licorice, anise, chewy tannins. Just great.
