Dark red purple in the glass. Abundant nose of licorice and black plum. Medium-bodied palate yields black plum, cassis, and licorice (classic port flavors). Medium acidity and medium plus tannins (particularly aggressive for such a light wine). A great easy-drunker with just enough “stuff” for a decent if simple dinner wine. Drink now.

30/30/30/10 blend of Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Tinta Roriz, Alicante Bouschet. Dense purple. Vanilla and violet notes in nose. Cherry, blackberry and black currant flavors with length, colossal chewy tannins (as advertised), more skin astringency than seed bitterness initially. Delicately massive initially, but tannins soften substantially after 45 minutes. Decant before serving for a nice Portuguese red.

Dark inky in color with a short purple rim.

On the nose blueberries, plums, sweet cherries, wood, graphite, licorice, eucalyptus, leather, earth, beef jerky and black pepper.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, vegetables, spices, smoke, earth, graphite, bitter vegetables, wet rocks, tobacco, herbs and peppercorn.

Nice length on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very nice red blend from Portugal. Well balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Big and bold with earthy notes on the nose, but fruity on the palate.

Needs some time to open up and I used the Vspin for 10 minutes and that worked out very well. Peaking now.

A blend of 30% Syrah, 30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz and 10% Alicante Bouschet.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

14% alcohol by volume.

88 points.

$10.

Like the name states, this is a colossal wine. It’s bold. It’s powerful. It could get a man to declare his love for Miley Cyrus despite the fact that no one in the room asked. Um, so, I like this wine.

Geoff bottle for BYOB dinner at Azanios. Very drinkable mix of some new world popularity hooks and old world balance. Syrah and Porto blends.

Blend of Syrah, Touriga Nacional, and Tempranillo. Decanted for 45 minutes. Loads of blackberry and plum notes, baking spice, and hints of licorice/anise with big tannins on the finish. Had it with a combination pizza and was a great match—this needs hearty fare. Moderately oaky. $10 at Costco.

Great deal for the price. Medium but juicy with light acidity and bright flavors. Good crowd pleaser and good to drink while socializing and not thinking too hard about what’s in the glass.

30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Syrah, 30% Tinta Roriz, 10% Alicante Bouschet. Huge wine. The bottle I drank was 3 years old which is way too young to be drinking this wine. Dark fruit layed with plenty of tannins. Would aim to drink this wine in more of the 5 year or older mark.
