Simple and easily drinkable Sangiovese blend. Won't win any awards but the leathery nose and berry finish were enjoyable @ $11 with some simple Italian fare

I picked this wee Tuscan red up from Dan Murphy's for about $13. We were going out for pizza so I thought an Italian red would be perfect.

In the glass this Sangiovese & Cabernet blend is a brilliant ruby red colour. The nose is rather earthy with lovely cherry and red liquorice scents coming through. Juicy and refreshing on the palate with acidity that complimented the food rather well, red berry and plum flavours dominating. Enjoyable and rather cost effective when you're on a budget!

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Excellent blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet that is brilliant with food and still very good on its own!

Nose has woodsy element. Cedar and cardamom. Plenty of ripe strawberry and a bit of coffee. Flavor is smoke and roses. A bit of strawberry rhubarb pie. A little short and tannic on the finish. Over-all a lovely Sangiovese though.

Good oak, cherries, fruity with pinch of cinnamon - soft, with mild tannins medium acidity and round smooth body, bit bretty nose. Cheap daily super-tuscan with beautiful label IMO.

Very pleasant sipping wine, with nice earth tones and good fruit. Complex, as expected with the Sangiovese grape (80%), while the Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) lends a smoothness that balances the wine nicely. Maureen says, "yummy, I like it!"
