Mediterranean Red Blend
#KosherWineSunday
Purple in color with a wide reddish/ purple rim.
Sweet nose with red fruits, spices, light oak and chocolates.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, currants, plums, cherries, light oak, dark coffee, pencil lead, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs, light vegetables and peppercorn.
Spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very young red blend from Israel. Easy drinking right out of the bottle, and a nice sipping wine.
Fruit forward and interesting. Feels like a Cotes du Rhône red.
Would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.
I paired it with cheeses, nuts and fresh berries.
A very unique blend of Caladoc, Carignan, Argaman, Grenache, Petit Verdot and Syrah. Aged for 8 months. Kosher and not Mevushal.
14% alcohol by volume.
89 points.
$30.

This Syrah-heavy blend is inky, and earthy on the nose. Savory tones overshadow the plum, cherry and currant aromas, with a high, herbal note apparent - sage, perhaps. There’s a light cinnamon-and-vanilla feel as well. The palate is dark and fruity, with a firm set of tannins. Pair this easily with a standing rib roast over the holidays, whichever holidays you observe.

1 person found it helpfulNov 17th, 2012A lovely Israeli blend which seems to be inspired from the Rhone valley, a blend of Carignan, Shiraz, Petit Verdot, petit Sirah, Malbec and Vigionier, that aged for 15 month in French oak. The result is a purple black color, with a very dominant nose, full of Mediterranean spices, black cherries, mint, licorice, prunes, full body, complex , firm tannins, multi learned and rustic, long dry finish with notes of dry figs and mint. Still needs time. My score 89, drink to 2019 perhaps longer.
