The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino opens slowly in the glass, inward and darkly floral. The nose hints at black currants, underbrush, exotic spices and crushed ashen stone, as if the soils of this Tavernelle estate have been imparted into its bouquet. This soothes with textures of pure silk, stepping lightly, as a wave of ripe red and black fruits easily flow across the palate, guided by saline-tinged acidity. Orange notes add contrast. The 2016 finishes staining and long, placing its minerality front and center. A saturation of fine tannins frames the experience as traces of licorice slowly fade. It's like liquid earth, yet juicy. Wow. A fantastic performance. (Eric Guido, Vinous, December 2023)

Fine soft tannins still form a strong backbone! Vibrant dark fruit still there along with a little “old world” love that Brunelle can offer!

Pencil lead, dried cherries, charcoal and potpourri on the nose and palate. Crisp acidity, smooth tannins, warm alcohol at 15% but nicely integrated. Savory and delicious, paired with grilled chicken and eggplant parmigiana for Easter lunch!

Really stellar Brunello that you can enjoy now with a short decant. It’s pretty acidic on opening but settles down quickly. Really delicious.

Delicious, a classic Brunello powerhouse that is also elegant and doesn’t overwhelm your palate when young.

Delicious Brunello. WS 94 Pts. I don’t see it quite there, but beautiful wine. Winner of tasting.
