Canyon Road
California Chardonnay
Pale lemon in color with a yellow tint.
Fruity Nose of lemons, citrus, green apples, gooseberry, grapefruits, bitter herbs and spices.
Medium bodied and refreshing with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with citrus, lemons, grapefruits, limes, bitter herbs and spices.
Short finish with bitter almonds.
This is a simple California Chardonnay. Balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Feels like an Unoaked Chardonnay with some Sauvignon Blanc mixed in. Pretty much like a lemon and grapefruit
Juice.
This is good enough for happy hour. I paired it with a spicy fried cauliflower dish.
13% alcohol by volume.
83 points.
$12.

Sweet for a Chardonnay. Tree fruit on the nose. Pear and green apple. Medium plus acidity. Medium bodied. Tangy citrus mouthfeel. Green apple. Good for the price. Not sure I'd necessarily pick it out at a store. This bottle was free.

1 person found it helpfulApr 4th, 2017I've found Canyon Road to be the only wines served at two different commercially catered affairs a week apart where the wait staff would come round and round to your table offering to fill up your goblet with the cheap stuff. I thought both the Pinot noir and the Chardonnay to be harsh and not worth drinking.

May 2nd, 2023A good, solid and safe middle of the road Chard. Perfect as a table white or a intro to chard for those who may need to try some the info on the lighter side of a vanilla/citrus combo. Perfect!
