Drinking it in Marsala, at the cantina, increases its value for me. Im not a fan of Marsala generally, but I liked this one with cantucci dipped in it.

This area near Trapani in Sicily is the Home of Marsala which uses predominantly Grillo Inzolia and Cataratto. This fortified style has fallen out of favour in recent times and these grapes are used mainly these days in the production of dry white table Wines. This Marsala could have been a Sherry to my inexperienced palate. Rancio Dry spirity flavours. Capable of extended cellaring, this 1974 could go on for ages.
