Never heard of this region, but it was DOCG and $12 so I gave it a shot, and it really delivered! This is the kind of wine you find in Italy as Vino di Tavolo and it is just delicious: very dark & inky, boysenberry and blackberry, brooding, sweet earth, dried herbs, great acidity and balance — dare I say some polish through impressive juicy finish.

Very nice. Prominent oak, deep fruit, some cocoa and spice. Reminiscent of a lighter failed-back Amarone or Valpolicella Ripasso.

Nov 4th, 20232014. Beautiful nose. Complex and layered. Full bodied, long length. Dense. Like it a lot. Touch of va but just enough to add flavor.
