Dolcetto d'Alba

Whoa. Tannin, structure and grip with extreme florals and vibrant fruit. Softened a little after a couple hours You can tell they are masters of Nebbiolo with this dolcetto.

Good value on list. Young. High tannins with some grip. Should be better Day 2.

Sadly I have had a very hit or miss relationship with Mascarello’s wines. Perhaps I just drink these wines at the wrong time in their evolution. I found even with lots of time in the glass it never came around. Found it to be disjointed and austere. I thought at age 5 this would be starting to drink well.

Bright, grapey and grippy initially. Tannins become a little dusty and the fruit veers towards cherry and plum. This has a light feel though it is anything but a light wine. Reminds me of very good Cru Beaujolais.

2016. Easy to drink. Delicious

Muscular.

Young. Cherry and cranberry, but basically all red fruit on the palate. High acid and geared to go but should wait

Still tannic in October 2022, but still delicious. Consumed too quickly to see if it would mellow after a couple hours.

Best dolcetto out there, last of three although one of them was kinda bad. This was great
