Cantina Ar.Pe.Pe.
Rosso di Valtellina Nebbiolo
Angular, lean, deeply mineral, all skeleton. Tannins are firm, fine, persistent, love the length and drying finish this has. Rustic, earthy, VA present but lifting. Very tense. Great value.

Still presents with classic tar and dried herb aromas, but with more pronounced ripe red fruits compared to its local Nebbiolo cousins. Tannins are still firm but more velvety with good acid structure. Alcohol is noticeably lighter for the varietal making it perhaps too easy to drink!

1 person found it helpfulJan 20th, 2019Violet with red cherry, tart and sour cherry, slightly herbal, leathery with hint of tobacco leaf, somewhat spicy and smoky. High acidity, med plus to high tannin, bone dry and med body. Still too young to drink. Suggest decanting for at least 30 min before drinking.

1 person found it helpfulApr 14th, 2018Drink with your kickass girlfriends wine. Valtellina Nebbiolo is that beautiful combo of hard and soft. Roses and dirty dirty dirt. The best lady of a wine. I’d marry it. This wine would make me eggs and slap me when I said something wrong minded. It might spoon me too if I’m lucky

1 person found it helpfulJan 17th, 2018Yeah, this is super young to be opening a mtn Nebbiolo. But very disappointed with his wine compared to prior vintages and virtually all things Arpepe. This was super tight, almost completely vegetal, with nary a huge bit of fruit to be found. Maybe a bad bottle, maybe a bad vintage. Bummer.
