Ripe and earthy, but still with decent red cherry note. A bit angular on the palate and could use more time in the bottle to integrate.

Nice wine but wondering where that ‘94’ rating from James Suckling was hiding. Characteristic Chianti with forward vibrant red fruits of cherry and dried tomatoes. A bit single note.

This Chianti includes just a touch (5% each) of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Dusty earth, purple flowers and dark cherry aromas fill the nose. Lighter cherry, cigar tobacco, dark chocolate and tar on the pallet. Hint of baking spices on the finish. Incredibly smooth texture. Solid acidity. Full bodied. Totally rustic in style. All about the Tertiary aromas and flavors with this wine. Settling in with age.
