I had the pleasure of sampling the 2004 vintage of the Calera Jensen Vineyard Pinot Noir in 2014. The 2005 is one that I slightly prefer over the 2004—this bottle has developed beautifully and is within its drinking window. The nose, a symphony of leather, earth, spiced apple rings, Rainier cherries, raspberry, and dried lavender. Silky on entry, with a red-fruited core neatly trussed in ultra-fine tannins that subside to a mineral-tipped finish. 14.0% ABV

Mt. Harlan Cuvée is a barrel selection from our various single-vineyard Pinot Noirs and reflects a fascinating complement of personalities from each. This wine is lively on the palate and full of flavor; red berry fruits, spice and pronounced minerality are accented by lovely briar undertones. This wine should age gracefully for at least 15 years, developing subtleties over time. Out of magnum

Sweet Cherry cough syrup elements. Initially some earth tones that evolved into a syrupy flavor. A good wine but not a great one. I am particularly disappointed in that I generally like Josh Jensen's dedication to terroir and this wine did not evidence that to the degree I expected.
