This wine carries a rather subdued nose, rather like a toned down Syrah. It’s certainly a clean nose, with no oak aging to color the fruit. The Montepulciano grapes take center stage, showing blackberry and plum aromas and similar dark fruit flavors. Alcohol is easy to take at 13% abv and the acidity is fresh and lively. The lack of complexity is not a problem, as the wine sips just fine.

Dark cherry, vanilla and toast. Pleasant with nice, assertive acid. Good pizza wine.

Peppery, slightly earthy, strong cranberry palate and dark berries. Medium plus body. Good but nothing to remember. A hint if olives/veggies. 2013 vintage.

Stewed fruits, raisins, slightly oxidized, floral notes, with subtle vegetal aromas. Olives, cherries, and a hint of chocolate. A bit over the hill or improper storage.
