This is the non riserva. The every day Aglianico per se. Nose of black plum, black flowers, tar, tobacco and superb minerality. Anise as well. Super Italian smelling. LOL. Palate is so juicy and lovely with ripe black fruits and lovey interspersed minerality and just so well made. Lovely stuff. Great concentration and delineation. Long, fresh and structured. Love this.

A very nice bottle, but more green herbal notes on the nose and palate than the last bottle. Likely a trait which might not be showing had I read my own notes on this bottle... "future bottles should be 2024+" so not 2020...🤷🏻‍♂️🤦‍♂️
Otherwise consistent notes for day one on this bottle.
Nose has blackberry juice, hardwood charcoal, over-ripe blueberry, ripe plum and metallic minerals (wet rust).
Palate has spice notes, metallic blackberry, mouthful of black cherries, old leather, the tannins are light initially but make their attack on the long finish.

This wine is so fine and so refined. Nose of tar, deep blackberry fruit, loads of intense graphite minerality. Palate is ungodly juicy, so pure and fresh, with clearly defined fruit and perfectly ripe tannins. So fresh and so pure. Delightfully long finish with incredible graphite minerality and even a hint of slate. So pure. Truly a great wine.

Decanted about two hours and needs much more time. Nose is stunning, could just smell this all night. Palate is still opening, likely better in a few more hours or tomorrow. Notes will be updated.
100% Aglianico, aged two years in 500L & 1,000L barrels, then in bottle for another two years before release. Seems like a crazy program for Aglianico, but it certainly works here. Likely the finest version of this grape I've experienced, yet still youthful, future bottles should be 2024+

High-toned, green; took a bit to fully integrate and unfurl… appealing rusticity, florals, aniseed, mineral, puckering acidity. Good structure. Hold and the elegance should blossom…

Awesome. Having it with pasta with broccoli rabe.
Nose is elegant fresh loam with a hint of licorice. Lovely. As it opens blackberry flower.
Palate is silky. Sweet blackberry. Lovely. As this opens the internal aromatics are beautiful. Blackberry flower. Lilacs. Wow. So elegant.
Finish has this sprightly blackberry.
