Calafe taurasi.
Nose is lovely plush blackberry fruit. Very sensual. Caresses the nose gently. A wisp of chocolate. As it opens intense lilac perfume. Nose filling. Volnay on drugs.
Palate is stunningly elegant. Hand crushed blackberries. Chocolate. So silky. Amazing silky texture. Lilac internal aromatics. Hint of spice. You get blackberry chocolate lilacs and spice. If it were more complex this would creep into elite realms. Alas it’s only really great.
Long finish. Chocolate covered blackberries. Wow. — 4 years ago
Calafe l’aura irpinia rose.
Nose is lovely. Grapefruit flower. White flowers. As this opens amazing density. Truly piercing.
Palate is such juicy fruit. Some grapefruit. Strawberry. But blended so not sweet and not bitter. Elite deliciousness. None of that metallic rose crap. Good acidity but not too much. Not super complex. You do get some floral internal aromatics though. This could be more complex with age.
