Young opulent, sexy and silky Barbaresco. Aromas of flint and hay waft from a glass of dark garnet, I get some black licorice (which I don't like in candy but love here), blackberry compote and roasted herbs. Warm velvety finish. This is a young beautiful queen from one of Piedmont's Royal vineyards. It's not top flight Barolo but it's damn close. Decant.

Leftover from Tour d'Italia at The Wine Club - Santa Clara. Young and full of potential. Tighter than the 2010 Copparossa.

crimson with brickening rim. Cherry, rose, cedar, spices (cloves?), a little liquorice and touch of bitter choccolate. High acidity and tannin still biting for this lovely barbaresco with perhaps not too long of a finish.

Amazing nose right off the bat. Took a couple hours to open up, but beautifully complex once it did. Dried herbs and dark fruit.
