Santo Stefano Di Neive Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Absolutely gorgeous tonight, with red label stardom, continuing to get better and better in the decanter wafting waves of roses, black cherries, exotic spices and tea leaves. It has immense richness but also so fresh and detailed. There is incredible density yet without weight. An amazing combination of power and elegance.

Beautiful clear fruit with plum, wild strawberry, some herbs. A touch of sweet syrup. Still quite contained and compact. Very good

Tawny reddish color with bricking and light rims. While it looks thin in the glass, the nose packs a wallop. Notes of black cherries, rose petals, some dark wood, some licorice and a bit of tar. Very fragrant. In the mouth it's solid but missing a little in the mid-palate. In a good drinking window. The nose is the thing here.

Reddish tawny color and mostly translucent. Obvious Nebbiolo nose with notes of tea, roses, pepper, some anise and a hint of tar. Seductive in the mouth but still has some edge to it. Good finish. Great pair tonight with homemade pasta and sauce.

Great nose. Leather, roses, tar. Intense fruit. I’ll wait a bit. Drying a bit after an hour. Not quite as fresh as you’d hope.. nice wine but have had better bottles

This continued to build and was extremely expressive by the end of lunch. Huge turn around from the initial pop. Very “tomboy-ish” combining strength and femininity. Spice cake, sappy tart cherry @Joe Lucca

An absorbing intense nose with some stink, then a deep reservoir of dark red fruit- cherry and a leather, and hauntingly intense fruit. Perfectly poised- long, savory, fragrant. Utterly gorgeous.

Very bright cherry fruit. Lovely and lucid with floral and violet notes and lifted, clear fruit. So pretty
