At first taste it was very backward but after 2 hours of decanting it really opened up. Dark fruit with hints of menthol/ tar with earth tones but not tannic. Very complex wine that evolved in the glass. Real joy to drink.

What a bottle. It evolved over the 2-3 hours it lasted and if I had my way it would have lasted 30 minutes! Opened with more leather tones then a more nutty flavor with light fruit throughout. Very silky but hard to go wrong with giacosa. Easily last another 10-15 years. Great bottle!
