A lovely sparkling Chenin made by my favorite California winery with predominantly apple and citrus notes along with some creaminess and a hint of fresh baked bread. Really delicious.

Jul 5th, 2021Uhhhmazing! Nose of lemon zest, dew on grass and clovers. Palate is so complex. Lemons, fresh bread, yet a good herbal flavor. Such an awesome food wine. I’m guessing this could pair with 90% of all meals. Perfect for ginger chicken stir fry for us. QPR for sparkling is insane for this wine.

Feb 27th, 2020Crisp, super bubbly. Citrusy at first, mild sweetness on the finish. Delicious!

Nov 16th, 2019I was surprised by the bubbles! I didn't realize this was a sparkling but it's really incredible. Best drank at just cooler than room temperature. Too cold and it's harsh, but let it sit for a bit and it really opens up. Minerality, very gentle sweetness, very well balanced. Awesome wine!

Jun 9th, 2019The sparkling Chenin has in past years been my favorite wine from Broc Cellars. Chenin is what they do best.
Though methode ancestrale, it has shown a fineness, depth, and elegance that isn’t so easy to find in Pet Nats these days.
The 2018 is good, but more feral than last year. Haze and skunk. Dry, chalky lemon with spiced citrus and white flowers. A yeasty base mixed with spiced gingerbread crumble.
If seeking a more elegant version, go for the still version of Chenin (2017 is spectacular).
