I thought I preferred Broc reds, but I've eaten those words. This Chard is kickass. Clean, bright, perfect acidity, energy. One of the better Chards I've had this year.

Ripe, stony, mineral driven whites! I'm a full for them!

This is in an interesting place. It’s still very fresh with lemon and fresh grass/hay, but more brioche and ripe apples than I usually expect. Lemon curd and stones, maybe some nectarine in there. Good amount of creaminess and heading towards baked pear/apple territory. Fascinating. Not as good as the donkey and goat chard I recently had, but this reminds me of Chablis meets champagne blanc de blanc.

Great CA Chardonnay. Balanced, not overly oaked, not really buttery. Fresh and delicious lemon, yellow apple, underripe pear. It doesn’t have the electric acidity of the Adank Swiss Chardonnay I just tried, but it’s delicious in its own softer, more subtle way. Speaking of Swiss, I’m using a cup for tonight’s cheese fondue on a snowy night.
