Cloudy and a bit of funk upon opening. Blew off to intense sassafras. Very mature.

At 24 years of age it’s really in a gorgeous sweet spot. Full, ripe, supple, long, and extravagant. I don’t expect there’s room to further improve but I’d expect many years of further enjoyment right up through her last song.

It's wines like these that show that Oregon is still pound for pound the best pinot buy in the planet. Out of magnum. Phenomenal. My wife rocks.

Just the right level of Brett to make it taste Burgundian.

On the oaky side but looks, smells and tastes closer to a 5 year old than to a 21 year old.

Tonight's tasting: Pinots from around the world. Group ranked 4 of 5. Tight with a bit of raspberry and flavors of cherry. Kind of one dinensional and not as complex as I would expect for the price...which, at $46, was the most expensive of the evening.

Who says Oregon Pinot can't age? This was really fun, showing lots of secondary characteristics.

This, is what I'd call a special Pinot! Vibrant colour and firm acidity which is softened by a run through an aerator. Closest this to Volnay that I've experienced in an Oregon wine.
