On paper (barbera, Pinot Nero, cabernet, merlot), something I would probably scoff at. In the glass, fantastic. Medium, dark, earthy, spicy. Perfect wine to blind a know it all with.

Celebrating the first night of Chanukah with a red blend from Piedmont!! This '04 shows classic notes of fresh and cooked red stone fruits, flowers, baking spices, leather, earth and secondary nuances. Nice bottle development. Interesting blend of Barbera, Pinot Noir, Cab Sauv & Merlot.

Leather and spice and everything nice. Full-bodied and fun. Feels like I’m in Tuscany.

Always an enjoyable, well balanced bottle, especially at $17.

This is a well balanced medium weight blend, a refreshing change from CA blends. More complex than the 2014, dust, orange peel, raspberry, some graphite on the nose. Cherry, spice on palate. Far better two hours post opening.
