Peppery, meaty and earthy on the nose. Juicy on the palate.

Nice, balanced, and tastes like Syrah! Stony minerality, dark spicy red berry fruit. I like to see wines like this one wine lists at chains (we’re in Lexington, KY), where you ordinarily see crap.

My ideal wine: perfect with pizza the first night and steak the second.

Purple, bright on the edges. Sabor! Savory: kalamata olive tapenade, leather saddle (a little sweaty), hot earth, cassis/framboise, tannins are firm but not grippy

The wine is dark, as in black. It's savory, the nose. There is dark fruit, yes - plums, blackberries, etc. But there are black olives and dirt and rocks and licorice and spices all competing for attention. The palate brings a smooth mouthful of minerals and acidity to the taste buds. It’s a deep and moody wine that “will not be ignored” and calls for similar food to be paired with it. Lamb chops are recommended, and I’ll go with that.

Dark fruit, anise, and a bit of smoke with soft tannins and healthy acidity. Good stuff! 13% alc, around $20.

Old world meets new world. Restrained yet complex.

Blackberry, cherry, raspberry, currant, white pepper, mossy earth and oak. Good structure and moderate tannins.

Very fresh for 2011! Very good value, all of what you love about Syrah.

Wow, held up well after all these years. Old wine character but fresh and savory too.
