It’s the new Cigare V. No Mourvèdre. A bit of a loss. Drinks not like a CDP anymore — and that’s not a bad thing. More like a VdP Cinsault. Lots of cherries. Quite a bit lighter and drinkable.

Nice simple wine. Interesting flavor at first. Cherries and dark fruits. Light tannins medium body.

Another tasty CR special. Very good. Medium body with a little bit of fruit but mostly smooth and spicy finish.

What most California pinots aspire to but do not achieve. 2015 vintage this time.

Classic Rhône - earthy, but vibrant. And made right here in the USA.

2015 Le Cigare Volant. Beautiful and bright with fruit, earth, balance and no oaky distractions. Damn fine and best after some time in the glass to open up. Burgundy glasses suggested and this wine develops such complexity over a few hours open.

Little lighter and less dense than I remember. Still a very pleasing wine, but not what I expected.
