Plum, blackberry, rich but refined with very full grain and ripe tannin that meshes well with the full, but not overblown Toro style of wine. I had this from a 3L a few days before and it was much more open and naturally in a better place being open and decanted naturally as this was near the end of the 3L.
Top 3 producer for me in the region.
American, French and Hungarian oak, 70-30 or 60-40 French to American, Hungarian <1%. 200k bottles of production.

Intense at first in the nose with muddled cherry and blackberry in liquor, this wine is in control with perfectly integrated oak and fine silky tannin. I expect much more of a beast in the glass but this is beautiful and classy. The fruit on the palate has mellowed out and adds spice and grilled herbs. #toro #tintadetoro aka #tempranillo #vegasicilia

Via Coravin. Coffee, leather, and berries on the nose. Black plum, cassis mid-palate. Firm tannins and fairly dry on the finish. Just a baby. Needs much more time in the bottle. Fun to try

A dark beast of a wine, the 2012 Pintia displayed notes of fig, plum, and balsamico, followed by brown spices, black earth and minerals. A wine of contrasts on the palate, as intense dark fruits saturated the senses before zesty acidity created an almost mouthwatering experience, yet a layer of fine tannin quickly firmed up the experience. It finished long of dark tary black fruits and spice.

Not as powerful, but more complex than the 2010. 2007 is supposedly an inferior year, but what a difference bottle age can make. Primary dark fruit quickly gave away to tobacco, wild mushroom, fig, and pine cone. Savory palate with balsamic and sweet spice. Lovely acidity. Decant for 1 hours before serving.

This was good, but coming after a big booming Zion was probably not the best choice. Gritty gravely texture, mild acidity at the end.
