5-Oh Bday Dinner... Brownish color with yellow in the rims. Like motor oil in a glass. Huge intense nose with brown sugar, old raisins and spice. Coated the palate and was impactful with its 17% + alcohol level. Great wine w our cheese course. An interesting 65 wine to finish off a 50th bday party.

Beef broth bouillon elements on the palate. Interesting nose and palate profile. Not as good to my palate as the 1962 of the same wine. Still a beautifully made wine. Hard to drink much of this since it is so intense.

First time tasting a PX. This is Vieja Cocecha 1973. Dark as dark soy source. It’s so thick and sweet that the flan has no match. Tremendous complexity. Caramel, fig jam, toffee, and of course molasses. Nice touch of fresh mint. A bit medicinal as well. Someone mentioned Robitussin, and I don’t think it’s far fetched.
This could be immortal. A great experience.

Unbohlievable with josh's homemade Dulce de leche ice cream. The nose is raisin and dark, simple. The taste is much more complex especially to match the pairing. wow
