Bodegas San Alejandro
Las Rocas Calatayud Garnacha
Very nice. A deep red, went well with Chuck roast. Good flavor, not too much tannin. Repeat depending on price

Feb 3rd, 2020What a nice surprise! Old world style garnacha, with tight tannins, white pepper, assorted spice (cardoman notes), and no excessive fruitiness. Really great value, the way Spanish wines used to be before the imports all became new world style fruit bombs.

Nov 20th, 2019Deep and dark for a Granacha (aka Grenache). Smells lovely. Clean, fresh water meets berry patch. Lightest of barny element in the nose too. Flavor is fruit driven and oh so clean. Bitterness is prefect. Like cherry juice and fresh blackberries, but not as sweet. Plenty of smoke and woodsy-ness with the fruits & berries. Just lovely, affordable, high quality wine from España!

Sep 5th, 2019Red cherry and blueberry, but not sweet. Fairly strong tannins have aged pretty well for a lower priced red.
