Deep Ruby aromas of red/ fruits with pepper spice and oak notes. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry and plum, elegant, with notes of cinnamon spice & smoky oak on fine ripe tannins. Long finish, lively acidity, nice mouthfeel, ending with vanilla and earthy mineral tones, a joy to Sip!!

Dec 19th, 2020We recently pulled some cases out of storage, which haven't seen the light of day for nearly 15 years, so I'll have some fun posts in the next several months.
Nose has dried blackberry, dried raspberry, ripe blackberry, ripe black cherry, dry oak plank, violets, old roses, medium-roast coffee beans and old milk chocolate bar.
Palate has ripe black cherry, ripe red currant, dried apricot, dried raspberry, ripe blackberry, moist soil, juiced peach, still chewy tannins with coffee and semi-sweet chocolate on the medium-long finish.
Decanted 2+ hours, pop & short decant for sediment on future bottles.
This bottle is in a great spot this evening, still many enjoyable years ahead. Future bottles may be 2023+ in proper storage, and yeah we have more. 😁

Nov 6th, 2017Rich, ripe, almost port-like nose. A bit of spice and vanilla from barrel aging. Very full bodied, loads of mouthfilling, savory flavors. Some nice clingy minerality in the long finish. Lots of oomph.

Oct 30th, 2017Serious tannin - almost too harsh. Beyond that, great balance of old world leathery/earthy components and new world ripe black fruit. Not terribly interesting, but well-structured.

Finsh 40+
