Wood tones. Very good right after opening. No need to breath it.

Complex aromatics of incense, leather, earl gray tea. High acid food wine, with plum, black cherry, pencil shavings. Very tight on opening, and somewhat fleeting after decanting.

A little bit of funk. Needs to breathe. Leather and tart fruit. Great with tomato-based foods. #Tempranillo #Rioja

Quite complex. Black pepper, bell pepper, refined oak, beautiful length in the finish. Quite well made.

Reserva is a bit oaky for my taste, I'm more of a crianza guy.

Could be bottle variation. I prefer these when they are brawny with warm fruit and smoke. This one seems racy and dried out. Would opt for Valserrano reserva in future.

More open and with more finesse than previous vintages. The fruit seems fresher but lacks integration, and may have more new french oak influence than before. Otherwise true to character.

Still holding strong at 10 years. Velvety and ripe. Cherry and orange zest on the nose with classic cherry and tobacco flavors and warm well integrated oak (French 18 months). The finish is vibrant, lengthening with air.
