Dark ruby/purple color. Aromas of red and black berries, violets, tobacco and smoky herbs. Flavors of blackberry, cooked plums, black olives, dark chocolate and eucalyptus. Hints of minerals, light oak and saline on the medium length and slightly bitter finish. Chewy tannins and reasonably well balanced. A bit lighter in body than a typical Tannat-based wine.

Interesting wine - lesser extracted, medium body. It’s got a reticent nose but once it opens up there’s dark bramble berry, some cocoa and tobacco on the palate and an unexpectedly bright acidity finishing in robust tannins. This is my first experience with #uruguay #tannat and I like it.
