Mid-2021 is too early for the 2011, I think. It’s still really tasty but if you can find older or let this sit I’d do it.

Rose bushes and perfume with hints of mulch and dirt.

It’s your grandmother’s garden.

This 17 Year old Gran Reserva is probably on the way out.

Showing red fruits with tobacco, light oak, vegetables, herbs, dark chocolates, coffee, leather, earth and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate, tangy and a little unbalanced.

14% alcohol by volume.

88 points.

$40.

Tobacco, coffee, licorice and chocolate with long finish. Yum, classic old world wine.

Might be a bit past its prime but still quite good. Light ruby color with a brick rim. Aromas and flavors of dark cherry, rose petals, dark chocolate, leather, tobacco and dried herbs. Smooth and dusty tannins. Brimming with acidity. Extremely complex, but maybe just a touch out of balance. Still a pleasure. Thank You John P.

I bought this for a wine tasting alongside a reserva and found it more difficult to palate with a strong tannin residue. Not worth the price for me. Santi liked it.

Textbook gran reserva from the northern part of Rioja. Nose of cassis, dark fruit,, and prunes with hints of tobacco and a bit of leather. Strong acidity holds it all together on the palate while flavors of vanilla and oak lead to a lingering finish. I really like this - it has aged well. 2007 vintage on Feb 6, 2020

A beautiful example of Rioja. Dusty dark cherries and violets on the nose. Dark Cherry, earth, tobacco and a hint of dark chocolate on the pallet. Wonderful balance.

Elegant with cassis and wet rocks on the nose. Flavor is nice. Deep and rich. Slightly smokey/peppery. Complex. A real Gran...

Very good and is slowly evolving from primary fruits to secondary flavors.
Dark fruits, and grilled meats with leather and tobacco flavors starting to emerge.
Still is youthful and has many more years to go.
