Bodegas Borsao
Tres Picos Campo de Borja Garnacha
Ruby color with aromas of black fruit and sweet spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry, cacao and spicy herb notes. Fine drying tannins, nice body and balance, medium finish ending with fruit, leather and earthy mineral character. Nice value.

Apr 8th, 2018Glass staining purple! A heady nose of clove, dried fig and blackberry. Mouthwatering dried cherries, candies flowers, Asian spices and a touch of black olive over deliver in a big way. Dark fruit and smoke echo long into the night. Another great vintage in a long line of smash hits. And a great value to boot!

4 people found it helpfulMar 5th, 2014Quite hot both on the nose and the palate, this premium (15% ABV) bottling from Borsao is a simple, if generous, Garnacha that will likely tick a lot of folk’s boxes. Notes of blackberry, blueberry, black pepper, plum, and coconut line the full bodied, macho palate. Not a subtle wine, but I can see why it’s popular. Not really my cup of tea.

1 person found it helpfulFeb 14th, 2021The fruit in this wine is poached and quite ripe with the ripest strawberry and raspberry rolling onto my plum and figs. There’s also a creamy element like cherry pie, with a touch of florals, orange liqueur, toasty oak and a touch rubbery reductive edge. The message is one of ripeness for sure, with a real heady, liquer like nose. The sandy tannins, but hardly intrusive and acid while medium does give a bit of freshness. Length is okay, alcohol high but not rudely so.
