Thought this was a really unique Rioja. Deep Rick ruby with a smokey burnt caramel aroma. On the bud, stewed dark cherries, pepper, and pomegranate that is smooth and a long finish. Nice tannins in the mouth. Great price for a gran reserva from a famous Rioja winery.

Nice bright, delineated nose of leather, barrel toast and black fruits.
The wine displays a glossy structure on the palette. Black fruits with red licorice. Lovely presence on the mid-palette with a nice balance of tannin, acid and alcohol. Quite approachable now, but would benefit from several more years in the bottle.

Whole Foods baby. Nice blend with jammy, smooth texture with tobacco and vanilla highlights. Brand is reputed to be a Winston Churchill favorite. Great with manchego and spicy nduja.
