Starts out exotic then the backbone kicks in then the ripeness of the vintage fleshes it out and weighs it down a touch. After open for a bit seems the more vivid exotic spicy bits faded back a bit under its own weight but still really nice. — 6 years ago
Pretty fun purple sparkle juice with a prickle and a floral dusty spicy prettiness that delights rather than distracts from its exuberance. — 7 years ago
Echoing what others have experienced- I am a huge fan of ganevat estate stuff but the initial fizz and funk of brett on opening (and then even after 3 days because couldn't drink it day 1)covers up the glimpses of amazing quality of fruit. I found this a pale shadow of what could've been really delicious. I suppose other bottles kept perfectly could be great - this one was just too damaged by brett éviscération to be enjoyable for me. Sacrilège to fanatics, but my truth. — 7 years ago
Gifted to me by one of the folks who made it. quite nice freshness and just enough of the animal side to satisfy. It gets a but trippier and heavier on the finish but I’m going to enjoy it with some pulled pork in a moment, and it was free :) — 4 years ago
Very tasty served too warm restaurant pet peeve. Reminds me why I once got so excited about cool climate Syrah - it has many of the pretty spicy savory things I love if a little softer and less cut than I'd like. Grateful I didn't spend the $175 delectable lists. Pretty tasty, but still short of killer for me. Maybe tomorrow it'll open up more. — 7 years ago
Quite nervy and that lovely floral Jamet perfume slowly emerging as it opened up. Drank too fast with crazy québécois and a Frenchie. — 7 years ago
Really special delicious turkey cooking treat John and I picked up at a visit to the domaine racing through France a few years ago. Lovely, deep, satisfying and taut. @delectable cuvée #738 — 6 years ago
Kept this in the cellar forever was afraid it’d be over the hill but no still really fresh savory pretty and evolving in the glass emerging then closing up then emerging again. Cool to check in on it after so many years. @delectable this is the Hirsch vineyard not ferrington. — 6 years ago
Drank this also with crazy québécois and a generous Frenchie. Initially a bit bretty and not particularly charming and the warmth of the vintage seemed to have dulled it, but then after about 30min it totally cleaned up and blew off and then revealed layers and layers of enchanting spicy floral tea and savory notes and most miraculous of all candied little red fruits and such a texture. Next one I open, I'll be sure to decant. — 7 years ago

Pretty and savory also a bit of lacto funk which doesn’t wander too far into the farmyard for my taste though I’m sure I’d like it better if it were better settled before bottling. Refreshing with some killer Oaxacan mole — 4 years ago
