A joint venture of Jorge Ordonez, Bodegas Borsao and others, in conjunction with Chris Ringland. Dark Ruby with dark berry fruit aromas, from 40+ year old vines and aged for 16 months in oak, 100% garnacha. On the palate flavors of cherry and plum with cacao, spice and smoky notes. Soft tannins, vivid acidity ending with soft oaky spice on a long mineral finish. Wines from Spain are superb and at great values, especially Bodegas Alto Moncayo wines.

Smells of lightly mentholated fruit tobacco

Medium body, showing dark berry, mint, pencil shavings, eucalyptus, this has such harmony and grace, with a blueberry lambic acidity that sings till you cannot help but have another sip. Such and amazing wine, every year I drink it.

Wow! This vintage has really blossomed into much more elegance than expected. Juicy, fresh and packed with ripe cherries, black berries and impressive minerality, framed by clever and already all integrated oak treatment, finishing with brisk acidity. Many good years ahead!

Smells of blackberry tea

Weighty, heavier bodied and mouth filling.
Blackberry, boysenberry, the latter bringing in a sweetness to balance the tart. Gorgeously wrapped in thin cedar shavings.
This wine is worth way more than its price.

Sipping Fine Wine

A joint venture of Jorge Ordonez, Bodegas Borsao and Chris Ringland, located in the town of Bulbuente (Zaragoza) Spain. Alto Moncayo is the flagship of the winery. A single-grape variety of Garnacha, from vines between 40 and 70 years old, aged in new barrels for 20 months. Bold aromas of fruit and spice. On the palate black fruit flavors, rich and full-bodied, with complex spice. Fine tannins, savory, good structure ending with a smoky character. Very nice!

A nose of cassis and crushed edible flowers.

Smooth, yet mouth-filling big bodied graciousness. Lush amounts of alpine fruit, dried herbs, smoke, and salinity.
A great homecoming wine.
Never disappoints.
