The 2020 Crianza is a 100% Tempranillo from Pesquera del Duero. Aged for 14 months in American oak barrels, it's garnet-red with a purple sheen. The nose offers strawberry, herb, undergrowth and oak aromas. Dry and taut on the palate with finely-grained tannins and a compact profile, this is a flavorful example of a Ribera red. Deep Ruby with an elegant bouquet of ripe berry fruits, pepper spice with earthy tones. On the palate flavors of plum and jammy cherry, tobacco, oak, pepper spice, lively acidity. Fine chewy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, oak, spice and an earthy character. Nice!

Unusual to find the Crianza in our territory. Ripe and easy drinking. Dark plummy fruit with blackberry. Alcohol kept in check. Medium acid and Med + tannins.

100% Tempranillo from vines aging between 20 and 40 years old. Deep Ruby with aromas of Berry fruits and fragrant smoky oak. On the palate cherry and blackberry flavors with vanilla and cacao. Nice balanced with acidity, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and mineral tones.

Older vintages of Pesquera can be particularly lovely, as such this toothsome 2012 Crianza is drinking well now, but will certainly reward patience. Oozing complexity, with dark fruit notes of roasted black cherries, singed earth, dried violets, black licorice, alfalfa hay and dark chocolate. Fleshy and round on entry, with fine, powdery tannins that sit firmly at the back palate. Dark chocolate, dark roast espresso and herbal notes reemerge at the finish.
