Vibrant purple-red, sappy, red fruit like raspberry, cassis, floral violets, some subtle pepper spice and licorice. Medium to full bodied, medium+ tannin, fresh acidity and an elegant but long, fresh and persistent finish. #gobuythiswine

Mar 15th, 2014Malbec from the cooler region of Patagonia, Argentina; elegant and refined, this shows a rare elegance from this varietal, but is very persistent, smooth, with great depth and complexity. Red berries and cherry, licorice, pepper then eucalyptus add nice spice complexity. The persistence continues on the finish with great length. Not cheap at about $45 but worth seeking out.

Fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and aged in used oak and concrete eggs. Deep violet color. Dark fruit aromas and flavors. Graphite and some oaky notes. Full-bodied, slightly harsh tannins.
