Reserva Maldonado Tannat

Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, floral and spice. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors with notes of cacao and tobacco, firm tannins, medium finish ending with fruit and spice.

Very impressive. Love a good tannat and hate an under achieving tannat. This however is very good. Bing Cherry and leather on the front. Chaulky black fruit on the finishing notes. Had ours with a specialty pizza of pepperoni and mushrooms. Absolutely a fabulous pairing! Lastly, the spice on this slightly tannic blend is perfect. ♥️

Label has old school vibes with a lot of very small writing in español. Dark purple approaching black in the glass. Aroma of tar, molasses and tobacco plants. Flavors are decently complex. Bit of dried black cherries and blackberry sauce. Black currant and black licorice are both also in there. Tannic. Dense. Weighty. Plummy finish. This doesn’t sing out with the herbal, earthy, wet bushes in the hills thing some Tannat is famous for, but it’s lovely red with character. Would meet a steak and shake its hand firmly with a next match.

On the nose, this is frozen raspberry... On the palate, this tastes darker... Blackberry, cranberry... Tree bark, cedar, sawdust... Eucalyptus... Very mushy wood... Pretty big body here though... And the tannins are really contributing to that... Soft, chewy... Medium length with baking spice.

Dark, more complex than expected. Pleasantly surprised. Could be less dry on the back end.

Deep ruby in color; milk chocolate, cherries, and cigar box on the nose; high acidity; medium plus tannins; I'm having trouble describing the flavors, but I love this wine. Jason says it ok.

Beautiful funk on the nose. Dark fruits, earth, leather somewhat dry.

Would buy again.

Great wine, best with a meaty dish. Love the deep red fruits, not overly tannic, light leather notes. Very drinkable

Enjoyed this wine. Very tannic, medium acid, medium ish body. Dark fruit. Will buy more and forget about it for a few years a to see what happens.
