Bodega Cuarto Dominio
Chento Malbec
Lots of dark fruit and balsamic hints. Concentrated, full bodied and silky tannins. Too dark for me

Jun 2nd, 2019Deep Ruby, purple edges, with aromas of blue and red fruits with floral spice. On the palate, plum, blackberry and raspberry flavors with notes of licorice and earthy spice. Medium+ finish, fine chewy tannins ending with cacao, tobacco and spicy fruit character.

A very pronounced, and typical, Argentinian Malbec nose of blackberries, red currants, smoke, vanilla, sweet cherries, licorice, cloves, leather, earth, light green pepper, herbes and peppercorn.
Full-bodied with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Spicy on the palate, and dry, with blackberries, sweet plums, strawberries, cherries, wood, vanilla, cloves, earth, leather, pencil lead, chocolates, coffee, tobacco, spices, herbs and peppercorn.
Medium plus on the finish with nice tannins and cherries.
A nice, above average, everyday red wine. This Single Vineyard Malbec, from Mendoza, is nicely balanced and not very complex. Very enjoyable by itself, and even better with food. Not as harsh as it was a couple of years ago.
I paired it with barbecue chicken.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
91 points Wine Enthusiasts.

Was expecting more of a classic malbec but this is unique. Not my style, but the wine is quality so I can't give it less than a 8 rating. Has an almost sour hit on the palate that I just couldn't get over. Time out of the bottle mellows this out a bit.

Aug 16th, 2024This is one of my favorites, dark fruit and not too jammy, but right there in the sweet spot. I tasted dark cherry and blackberry on top, low tannis

Feb 10th, 2023Beautiful bouquet, light-to-medium body, not as acidic as I was expecting but still dry, nice fruity finish. Would definitely drink this again!

May 19th, 2020Surprisingly grassy and earthy, very little of the fruit I expect from a malbec. Bland finish.
