Gorgeous nose. Complex and tarry. Dark cherry. Ripe and juicy. High acid. Pretty big. Delicious and fruity on palate. Not bad length. Some good parts, some bad parts.

Very happy with this. Still young, well proportioned, fine tannins.

Wow tasty Barolo, just as I recall it from Castel Grumello. This bottle direct from the winery from my visit directly after that tasting. Leather, blank cherries, pomegranate, candied orange rind....everything you want in your Barolo. Heat is manageable.

Saddle leather and a barnyard smell on the nose with a hint of nettles. Unripe cherries on the front. Very dry tannic structure. Mineral high notes on the finish give a sharp kick at the back of the throat. Not as unpleasant as I’m describing this wine, but it would take a thick paste of anchovies and capers to balance the tastes of this tipple.

Deep cherry flavor, combined with cranberry and leather, with a long finish consisting of smooth tannins. This Barolo is still very intense, yet the tannins are not harsh. I suspect that of any younger, the tannins would be overwhelming, but this wine is now ready to drink 15 years after the vintage. The nose is a perfumed combination of cherry and earth. A great experience that even tasted great without food.

It's Barolo definitely. Strong flavor of the grape and heavy. Love it for the steak dinner.
