Star bright straw gold. Wonderfully inviting nose of ripe yellow apple and hay. Juicy (medium plus acidity), medium palate confirms the nose (with the hay leading the apple) adding honeysuckle, orange rind, and white pepper. A slightly oily mouthfeel leads into the relatively short finish. Classic South African Steen. Drink now.

This Chenin Blanc from historic Blaauwklippen is all about sun-kissed fruit and easygoing charm. Grown on ancient, granite-based soils in Stellenbosch, it delivers a generous nose of yellow peach, baked apple, lemon, and a subtle biscuit note that adds just the right touch of richness.

On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and juicy, with layers of ripe peach, quince, and a hint of pineapple that carry through to a clean, fruit-forward finish. Certified for Integrity and Sustainability, it’s a fresh, savory white that’s perfect for casual sipping or pairing with roast chicken, grilled veggies, or a creamy cheese board. Cheers!

Straw bright, gold, clear and pale. Smell of peaches, honeysuckle, wet granite. Tasted very much of stone fruits and a bit of chalky stone. Went very well with salmon.

Just not a chenin blanc fan, they are always too sweet for my taste. But this one is passable.

Good only cold. For a hot summer.
