Presented to me double-blind at Tasting Group. The wine appears a very light ruby color with a slightly watery rim and a transparent core. Medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. No signs of particles or gas. On the nose, this is predominately red fruited with cranberry and raspberry along with some forest floor, a faint whiff of red flowers and subtle baking spices. The nose is ever so ethereal. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose with a medium+ finish. Alcohol is medium. This is an elegant wine that had me thinking Pinot Noir or Grenache from the Old World, most likely France. I settled on Bourgogne Rouge from the Côte de Nuits, 2017. Close, but no cigar. In hindsight, I should have considered Beaune more than I did. This is a pretty wine that is super light on its feet. Drink now through 2030.

2017 Vintage - (375ml) - seems like some carbonic here - not super interesting ,low tannins here ,cherry fruit - it’s a village wine but still expected more -disappointing

Better late than never #lapaulee. Pure and powerful expression of brooding red fruit. Fall foliage gives way to typical forest floor. Imposing fruit opened to savory profile. Excellent yet could still see some time.
