Pitures Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Fairly closed nose. Red fruits dominate with some stem notes. The texture is extremely silky with medium- tannin.

A bit lean.

Still meaty but showing its age. Silky as Volnay should be.

A little passed its prime on the nose.

Floral and just plain gorgeous.

Deep and beautifully open 09

In a sweet spot right now!! Drink it, drink it.

Had higher hopes for this one, but found it in an awkward, closed phase and in need of time. Fine grained and detailed, with wisps of oak and berry fruit underneath but overall shut down and not showing much, even after a double decant. There’s a pretty wine here, but at this point it’s a hold.

WotN. Zero alcohol and .0001 tannin yields to gobs of fruit and sous bois tree bark smoothie. Wow. - at Archer

Paulee. Solid.
