Bevan Cellars
Ontogeny Napa Valley Red Blend
Monthly 4th Friday is post Thanksgiving this year, so lots of Thanksgiving style wines!
Spiced cake, smoked meat, grilled red and black fruits on the nose. Rich and open as Bevan’s wines are on the palate. Sweet fruit and toasted oak. Some cedar, new pipe tobacco, nutmeg and cocoa shavings over black forest cake. Hedonistic as always and showing really well. In drinking order, I think they are currently as follows: ‘15 now, ‘14 next, ‘16 in the next year or two.

Drank 7/12/18. Tasing event.
Very pleasant, but medium nose of black fruit and some oak. Nice very balanced palate with black berry, red fruit, and well integrated tannins.

May 5th, 2019Lovely wine on a perfect summer evening. 82 degrees, clear blue skies, and low humidity.
Just a delicious, happy Labrador Retriever of a wine - it wants nothing more than to please you. All smiles here!
