Mantico Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Red cherry, dried and tart...floral with purple flowers, roses, missing alot of the good characters I love...tannins were lower than expected and short finish...

Cherries and rose petals. Nice bitter balance.

Half hour splash decant. Transparent garnet in the glass. Big nose of violets and brick cherry. Firm tannins from entry to finish, medium plus acidity. Palate of old cherries and new leather. Cries out for food, of course. In an excellent spot right now. A steal at 19 bucks.

Dried violets and cherries. Tarry but not terribly harsh.

Pale-medium ruby-garnet color.
Aromas of cherry, leather, clove.
Dry. Flavors of cherry, leather, earth, tar, subtle floral. Rich, firm tannins.

Light ruby color with a garnet rim. Aromas of bramble berries, dried herbs, violets and leather. Palate features sour cherry and cranberry with hints of Asian spices tobacco. Lovely earthy component on the finish. Nicely integrated with very smooth (but drying) tannins. Medium bodied. Thanks for opening this one, Keith S.

Good value. Funky nose. Good acidity. Fruit forward. Low tannins. Not brittle.
