La Mailloche Côtes du Jura Chardonnay
A complex Chardonnay that really is wonderful to drink.

May 18th, 2017Slightly torn on this one. Interesting and enjoyable. Great concentration of fruit, funky, a bit foxy, cigarette notes. I actually liked it, but it was a bit up there on the "natural" scale. It could have been many different varieties from varying places.
The unofficial theme of the night was the merit of these wines, where they fit in, and in what context(if needed).

Deepening gold, toasty mature yellow stone, dry, good acidity; richly ripe and mature with bright waxy fruit. Classy!

Jun 11th, 2015La Mailloche 2005: spicy, fennel and juniper. Mineral, chalky and very intensive. Lovely layers of complexity. Harmony, light bitterness, chalky, floral, lightly almond. A spicy little number. 97 superbly expressive. Length lasts for several minutes. Superb.
