Not a bad wine here at all. Some pot pourri, menthol, clove, black cherry, mulberry, basil and some orange bitters. Plenty of intent in the palate with fine grained tannins providing some lovely shape.

Nose and palate of smoked meat, ripe black cherries, leather, blackberry and cassis. Clove and cinnamon. Good balance. Powerful upfront but finishes abruptly.

Aug 7th, 2023I’m not sure why this wine isn’t getting better ratings. There’s a little menthol on the nose, but there’s some black cherry too. Cloves and cherry on the front with soft tannins. Gets a little tart on the mid-palate finishBut it adds spice to the mix!

Basrline wine and spirits wine tasting. @momma_leslie strongly dislikes this. Smells like "a plastic bandaid and Watkins carbolic salve". I appreciated it a bit more. Huge amounts of human interaction goes into making this wine. Individual grapes are picked from the bunches to be pressed. Dark maroon with a pinkish rim. Smokey. Our first #pinotage We will have to try others. Do not hesitate to give it a try for yourself. Rated 7.9 strictly because Leslie didn't care for it.
